WEST COAST-  CALICUT TO UDUPI

Finally we see some elephants on the road,, we have seen many other animals. nice to see them on the road tho!! like the rootZ.

we cycle towards cannur, after a little cay at 4;30 IN mornin wit the turks. we stop off to have some parotta wit curd. then cycle on, back to work.  every body that evening kept telling us that they are  ”full”,, no more rooms.  we didnt get it.  there was a circus nearby so perhaps it was becaue of that. in the end muz exploded and ask mr hotel guy why everybody said no rooms when it clearly looked like there was loads of room.  who knows. we never figured it out. so after 2 hours of hotel hunting;,,  we came acrosss a posh end one,, wit reasonable prices. we felt a bit spoiled checking in after all our tent adventures.

spent that evening watching some crap sandra bullock film ,, then some wicked jackie brown film. went downstairs for a tahli and icecream.  basically did the posh indian nite!!  however cheaper than london off coarse

the west coast had the wind against us,, pretty strong too.  the roads surprisingly up and down too,, so it was hard to stay motivated. even strawberry icecream didnt keep our heads up.

we bumped into some cyclists again, this time from bristol,, funny enough we had a common friend. pete.  they were heading south,, we north. so we decided to call it a day and we stayed the evening in the same guest house. we did the romantic bike talking thingg over a curry and parrota again,, was sweet. had a walk on the beach,, eat homemade crisps at the fort castle.

Mangalore,, we get there in the afternoon, still sunny and checkin to a cheap, druggy style hotel californa place. the blue star hotel.  225rp for the nite. comes wit a paddlock and a sign no drugs , no alcohol.                                                                                     we decide to do the posh indian again and treat ourselfs at the best curry house in town,, sofa style seating , air conditioning, budda style humming music and sexy waiters with mouschtaches. we get an all inclusive tahli for 95rps(1.50euro),, comes wit soup ,icecream , tea etc.  gud stuff

at UDApi  we check out the temple,, as its really worth seeing. many peeps come there for some pilgrimage activities. we enter  the krisna temple and its a bit trippy seeing people lying on the floor, touching gods feet,, doing wierd stuff etc. its darkish with candles everywhere. feels like an acid trip to an extent.    some babamen sit by the pond mediating and drink the pond water for good health. whilst the monks bathe and feed the ducks rice. we watch with passified eyes. this stuff is normal to us now.

the wind is annoying so we decide to catch a bus to Gokarna,, the beach here we come!!! we tie our bikes on the roof and sit a bumpy ride. we are on holiday again  : )

On rencontre encore d’autres cyclistes.
