– PLATES AND CUPS FROM THE WORLD

.

MONGOLIA

The typical dish that was served to us when explaining we were vegetarian.  Potatoes, carrots, onions and rice, that all we ate for one month!!

.

.

CHINA, Inner Mongolia

The two plates on the left were cold : peanut-carrot-cucumber salad and some non-identified but delicious vegetable salad. Omelet and ear-wood mushroom, and fried spicy potatoe. This was our first chinese meal!

.

.

CHINA

Chinese hot pot or “fondue chinoise”. Everyone gets their own pot with boiling water and you just throw in the different vegetables that you chose (actually we didn’t really choose, we just asked for vegetables ;-)) here some different kind of lettuce (that they don’t eat as salad!) tofu, potatoes, mushroom, home-made noodles and all the little sauces that come with all this! So you end up cooking for yourself, and it’s really nice!

.

.

CHINA

our own little kitchen!.

.

.

CHINA

Chinese tea ceremony, served by Ho. We’ll try to remember how to do it!

.

.

CHINA, Beijing

Classic noodle soup.

.

SOUTH KOREA

Bibim bap : rice and vegetable that you mix up in your bowl. Comes with side dishes and all different kind of kimchi, which is a traditional fermented dish, made of vegetables with varied seasonings, according to the season. pretty spicy!

.

.

SOUTH KOREA

This is a kind of pancake, called jeon. It comes with all kind of vegetables inside, and side dishes.

.

.

SOUTH KOREA

A feast! not all veggie though.. But this is Korean style, with all the side dishes. In Korea, even if you ask only for rice in a restaurant, they will never only serve rice. It will always be served with side dishes and kimchi, and probably a soup too.

.

.

SOUTH KOREA

Now the korean tea ceremony served by one of Jang’s friend. The tea master also gave us as a present some tea he had picked and made himself. nice!

.

.

.

.

VIETNAM

Vietnamese coffee : with concentrated milk at the bottom, and vietnamese coffee maker on top

.

Pineapple snack on the side of the road. Pineapple master knows how to cut! She´s wearing a mask because of loads of dust on the road…

.

.

VIETNAM

Asian market stalls, full of fruits! hmmm

.

.

VIETNAM

Sort of little crepe, probably made of rice flour, and filled with a kind of honey waffle and grated coconut and a few black sesameseeds, all this rolled up together make a nice small dessert.
